Capalaba FC and Cleveland High forge closer ties

Capalaba FC is extremely pleased and proud to announce that it has forged an agreement with Cleveland District State High School which will see the two parties work together for the benefit of football in the region.

This agreement will focus specifically on young female footballers who participate in Cleveland DSHS’ football program.

Cleveland DSHS and Capalaba FC will share resources and facilities to strengthen both football programmes.

The agreement will also see Capalaba FC Academy Manager Dan Baker become part of the Cleveland coaching staff for the 2020 season. The relationship extends even further with current senior Capalaba FC NPLW player, Kelly Crew also joining the CDSHS coaching team for 2020.

The agreement will allow for:

  • the collaboration and sharing of successful coaching ideas and practices to ensure ongoing player development;

  • sharing of appropriate facilities to offer elite programs to CSHDS students;

  • collaboration of player identification and development;

  • actively working together in promotion of joint and individual activities;

  • giving talented female players every opportunity to stay within the region to develop and participate in elite football.

Capalaba FC President, Jason Ganter was enthusiastic about the agreement and how it could benefit both parties players and coaches,”It’s no secret that Capalaba FC is very proud of our female football program, working with Cleveland District State High School will ensure not only the growth of women's football in the region, but quality development pathways are available.  Sitting down and speaking with Sean about the school's vision it was extremely evident that the key elements of their vision echoed our own and made this agreement key for both the school and the club.  The school has a proud heritage and Capalaba FC is keen to be part of its future for many, many years to come."

Cleveland District State High School Football Coordinator Sean Curtis reiterated Ganter’s comments, "This partnership was another step forward in our annual plan along with our Brisbane Roar FC Schools Premier League alignment to ensure our female football students receive the very best football learning experiences possible on the Bayside. Capalaba FC have a very successful history of producing quality players and we want to be apart of it moving forward.”

Capalaba FC is proud to be recognised as one of the leading female football Clubs in Queensland and the agreement with Cleveland DSHS only strengthens and reinforces our commitment to the development of women’s football throughout the Redlands Coast and opens up the opportunity for greater involvement in elite football for Cleveland students and Capalaba FC players and coaches alike.
