2020 NPLW Player Announcement

Capalaba is excited to announce the signing of Georgina Worth for the 2020 NPL Women's Season.

Born in Brisbane, but moving to Canberra at 3, Worth returned to Brisbane in 2016 to take up an offer from Brisbane Roar after stints at Canberra United and the ACT Academy of Sport.

At only 17 years of age, Georgina was offered a scholarship at the ACT Academy of Sport. During her time at the Academy, Worth gained selection in the Australian Under 17's and Under 20's National teams where she had the opportunity to work with some of the best current female football talent in the country.

Having played for the Young Matilda’s and playing as the second keeper for Roar, behind Mackenzie Arnold. Georgina is quickly earning a reputation as one of Australia’s finest keepers.

Georgina is a current Brisbane Roar W-League contracted player, training under the guidance of Head Coach Jake Goodship and Goal Keeper Coach, Dean May. On signing with the Roar, Worth remarked "It was really challenging training 4 or 5 times a week and travelling for away games every couple of weeks, but I learnt a lot and being around players like Katrina Gorry and Mackenzie Arnold was unbelievable, it’s not something everyone gets the opportunity to do.

It is this experience and talent that will have the 23-year-old Worth in prime position to make a successful foray into the Queensland NPL Women's competition in 2020 and deliver on her undoubted ability.

"I'm looking forward to the challenge that this season will present and I can't wait to join Hano and the team at Capalaba!"

Coach Skie Hanifin is very excited to have signed this talented keeper – “It’s always a bonus when a player of Georgie’s calibre comes looking, she will bring a ton of experience and leadership to the group with a strong work ethic!

Welcome to Capalaba FC, Georgina.
