2020 NPLW Player Announcement
Capalaba FC is proud to announce the addition of Annie Walker to its 2020 NPLW squad.
Annie joins the Bulldogs from Houston, Texas where she captained her college team, Rice University Owls in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Conference-USA.
Walker cemented a starting position for 3 out of her 4 years at College and in that time played in a number of attacking positions, forward, attacking midfield and winger and developing a handy knack of scoring. In her most recent season, she led the conference, and tied for ninth in the nation, with 0.5 assists per game, stats that underlined that ability and earned her a NCAA Conference-USA offensive player of the week nomination.
Annie was named in the Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week and added to the Mac Hermann Trophy Watchlist during her senior year (an award given to the best female soccer player in the NCAA). She also earned the Warrior Award from Rice Soccer, an award for the player who consistently works the hardest and with the most passion on the team, both in games and during training.
“I am really excited for Annie to join this playing group and our Club. She is a genuine goal scorer and is hungry to attack up front. Her current goal scoring streak overseas is red hot and, when she brings that here, she will cause problems for every defensive line in the competition!” Head Coach Skie Hanifin added on Walker putting pen to paper.
Welcome to the Bulldogs, Annie. The players, coaches and fans all look forward to you bringing your game to Capalaba in 2020 .
