Capalaba FC welcome David Large

Capalaba FC welcomes David Large back to the club as Football Director for the 2020 season.

Large has a long history with the club that extends beyond his Presidency in 1999 and returns to the Club with a wealth of experience, not only in Football but also in the NPL and in Football Queensland structures.

David is an “A” Licenced Coach and spent ten years (2008-2018) as the Technical Director and Head Coach of one of the South East’s leading clubs, Brisbane Strikers following a seven-year stint as Football Queensland Director of Coaching (2001-2008).

I am very passionate when it comes to football; it has dominated my life from a very early age. An opportunity to pass on my experience to develop coaches, players and Capalaba Football Club was a challenge that really appealed to me, an opportunity I couldn’t resist. I thank Jason and his management team at Capalaba for presenting me with this project, helping the club to move forward in 2020 is something I am excited and very much looking forward to getting started”

Club President Jason Ganter spoke enthusiastically about David's appointment.

"First and foremost, David Large is universally respected in the football community and his CV supports that.  Having previously spent time at Capalaba FC, David has a genuine affection for the Bulldogs and is a great fit for the Club to move forward. We have a very specific role for David and his support for our football staff is key for the club's next development stage.  He has even warned me that he will challenge our management committee as well (laughs), which is good for the club in general. The last two years has been challenging for Capalaba FC as we entered a new environment in state level football.  The club as a whole has developed and learnt along the way and everyone who has been involved has contributed to our recent success.  The next few years are critical as we take further steps forward.  David's strategies and plans for that are exciting and something we are ready for."
