2020 NPLW Coach Announcement
Capalaba FC is extremely excited and proud to announce the addition of 2019 NPLW Grand Final Coach, Skie ‘Hano’ Hanifin as Head Coach of our NPLW Senior Team.
‘Hano’ is a widely respected and very successful coach, who has been heavily involved in women’s football for the last 7 years. He commenced his senior coaching career at Mitchelton FC, before moving across to Moreton Bay United for the 2018 season, where he took the Head Coach role of the Senior NPLW. 2019 was a very successful season for Hano & Moreton Bay, where he developed the team to be a consistent force across the season, ultimately finishing second in the League. Hano then successfully guided the team through to the NPLW Grand Final.
“Capalaba jumped out at me with their clear structure and willingness to succeed in this competition. They have had a wonderful women’s program for many, many years and I aim to strengthen the program even further. Capalaba had a reasonably successful 2019 and have the basis of a squad that can ensure a regular top 4 position in 2020 and beyond. I am also relishing the chance to work with their juniors and continue the good development work that has already commenced. The foundations are clearly already there, so there is not much tweaking that needs to happen, only hard work and a clear pathway moving forward.
2020 will be a very exciting year for Capalaba FC with Lions again being the team to beat, but that may change with plenty of player movement likely to occur across the competition before the season starts” - Skie Hanifin.
Head of Football, David Large was enthusiastic about Hanifin’s appointment – “Hano is going to bring to Capalaba a depth of experience in the NPLW which we can use to build on our 2019 season and bring through the next generation of quality players. I am looking forward to 2020 and what this club can achieve, we have worked long and hard on developing a structure and environment that will allow us to attract more quality coaches, like Hano, who are committed to the development process this Club offers’
